Memorial Day Weekend May 28-31, 2010

Turnpike: Take I79 north or south to Route 422 Exit, go west 1.4 miles, then take Rt. 19 South 2.9 miles and follow signs "Outdoor Extravaganza" as you turn right onto Cheeseman Rd, then 1.7 miles to the campground.
We have a weekend full of various outdoor activities: Road, Trail & Mountain biking, Canoe or Kayaking on streams & lakes, Sailing, Rock climbing, Rafting, Horseback riding, Hikes of various levels and possibly Caving. There will be fun workshops: Backpacking, Yoga, Specialized Cooking, Flying Radio-controlled airplanes, Geocaching, Extreme Croquet, Mushroom Identification, Digital nature journal with nature walk, and even a "Build your own Sailboat" workshop. There will be a Pontoon boat tour and Historical excursions. We even have fun Kids workshops and Kids excursions, like going to "Living Treasures" Animal Park.
Breakfasts, bag lunches and evening meals are provided but optional. Camping provided but optional. You may drive in each day, or stay at nearby cabins or motels. Trips, Excursions and Workshops begin each day at 9 AM, either at the campground or leave with leaders to where day activity takes place.
Friday evening is a Weiner Roast Picnic, along with campfire songs and guitarist Nancy Dickson. Saturday evening is a "Pig Roast" followed by evening entertainment. Sunday evening entertainment will also follow the Sunday evening meal. Chuck Tague, a well known naturalist, awarded many environmental conservation awards, will present one of his wonderful nature programs. Around the campfire each evening will be telescope viewing and of course "smores". One evening we will have moth viewing with special light set ups.
Throughout the weekend a gear exchange / flea market will be set up, so join us to buy or sale. This weekend is a must! Details and registration will come out in March. Check the website for day activities, evening entertainment, and to register online. Some trips and workshops fill up quickly if there is a maximum allowed. Also canoes and kayak rentals must be reserved and we only have so many! Sign up early for an early bird discount.
